Streambank Rehabilitation Workshops

Each year, ADF&G staff teaches a two-day Habitat and Rehabilitation Workshop in each of the project locations throughout the state. This workshop is offered at no charge to an audience that includes landowners, agencies, non-profit organizations, consultants, contractors, students, and others. The first day of the workshop provides education on fish habitat, hydrology, plant materials, construction materials, and construction techniques for streambank rehabilitation projects. The second day of the workshop involves the hands-on installation of a rehabilitation project by workshop participants. Workshop participants are introduced to a supportive network of restoration professionals who are available for further consultation, and they learn how to avoid or minimize impacts to salmon rearing habitat.
