Hunting Conditions

ELIGIBILITY: Prior to hunting, you must complete the online Mountain Goat Identification Quiz (www.quiz.adfg.alaska.gov). RG014 is an archery only hunt; to participate in RG014, you must have an IBEP or equivalent bowhunter education certificate.

HUNT AREAS:
RG012: Unit 1C, that portion draining into Lynn Canal and Stephens Passage between Antler River and Eagle Glacier/River.
RG013: Unit 1C, remainder.
RG014 (archery only): Unit 1C, that mainland portion draining into the south bank of Little Sheep Creek, above 2,000 feet and south of the west ridge of West Peak, with the contour and ridge being the boundary,
Gastineau Channel south of Little Sheep Creek, Stephens Passage, and Taku Inlet between the mouth of Little Sheep Creek and Taku Glacier, including that portion on the south side of Blackerby Ridge
encompassed by a line from Observation Peak west along the ridgeline down to the 1,000-foot contour, east along that contour to the north shore of Salmon Creek Reservoir, north of the main drainage
into the head of the reservoir following that drainage south and east up to the ridgeline and east to Olds Mountain.
RG015: Unit 1C, drainages of the Chilkat Range south of the south bank of the Endicott River.

LEGAL ANIMAL: One goat of either sex; the taking of nannies with kids is prohibited.

PERMIT, LICENSE, LOCKING-TAG: Carry your permit and hunting license. If you are a nonresident, also carry your metal big game locking-tag for goat and the associated Big Game Tag Record.

IF YOU KILL A GOAT: You must immediately validate your permit by cutting out the month and date of harvest. If you are a nonresident, before leaving the kill site you must also affix your metal locking-tag to a part of the animal required to be salvaged. You must submit a completed permit report to ADF&G in Douglas within 5 days of kill.

IF YOU DO NOT KILL A GOAT, OR DO NOT HUNT: You must submit a completed permit report to ADF&G, or report online at http://hunt.alaska.gov, within 15 days of the close of season.

IF YOU FAIL TO REPORT AS REQUIRED: You will not be eligible to receive any permits the next regulatory year and you may face additional enforcement action.
