Starrigavan Creek and Estuary
Description
Starrigavan Creek and estuary are located at the north end of Halibut Point Road. It is accessible from the Starrigavan Campground to the north and a gravel access road to the south of the creek. It has a population of sea-run Dolly Varden which enter the creek during early July in prime condition after their spring and summer growing season. In the fall, Starrigavan Creek also contains spawning pink salmon, and coho salmon. Pink and king salmon are the only salmon which may be kept in Starrigavan Creek. Regulatory markers placed outside the estuary mark the freshwater boundary seaward of which coho salmon may be retained.
