2022 Yukon River Salmon Fisheries
Disaster Relief Fund Second Draft Spend Plan
On January 29, 2024, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce made a disaster determination for the 2022 Alaska Yukon River Salmon Fishery under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act in response to the November 29, 2022, request from Governor Dunleavy. NOAA Fisheries allocated $1,594,841 to address losses to the affected management areas. The State of Alaska, in consultation with stakeholders and NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service, has drafted a second draft spend plan and is now requesting public comments from affected stakeholders. Comments should be received by May 5, 2024, to be considered for the final spend plan.
This is the last opportunity to provide comments.
The final spend plan will be sent to Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC), the administrator of the federal grant for the disaster funds. Once the federal grant has been approved, PSMFC can begin the fund distribution process.
