Pacific Walrus (Odobenus rosmarus divergens)

Petitioned for listing in 2009. In 2011 USFWS determined listing was warranted but precluded, with the decision to be reviewed annually. In 2017 USFWS determined listing was not warranted. Following a legal challenge to the not-warranted finding, as of 2024, USFWS will revisit the species’ listing status.
