Lynn Canal Pacific Herring (Clupea pallasi)

Petitioned for listing as a distinct population segment in 2007. NMFS published 12-month finding in 2008 and determined listing was not warranted because the Lynn Canal population did not constitute a species, subspecies, or DPS under the ESA. NMFS initiated a status review for a Southeast Alaska DPS (Dixon Entrance northward to Cape Fairweather and Icy Point) and published a finding in 2014 that listing was not warranted.
