North Slope Advisory Committee
The North Slope AC has nine members, with eight designated seats and one undesignated seat. The following villages have one designated seat each: Barrow, Point Hope, Point Lay, Wainwright, Atqasuk, Kaktovik, Nuiqusut, and Anaktuvuk Pass. The AC meets on a quarterly basis with the dual purpose of meeting as the North Slope AC and an oversight group for the North Slope Borough’s Department of Wildlife Management. The area of jurisdiction for the North Slope AC is Game Management Unit 26. Major concerns for the AC include effects of development on fish and game resources, brown bears, polar bears, wolf, and marine mammals.
