Ward Lake/Creek Roadside Fishery
Description
The Ward Lake/Creek drainage is conveniently located on the Ketchikan road system and supports good runs of trout, Dolly Varden, steelhead, coho, pink, chum and sockeye salmon. There is good access to the entire lake and inlet stream via the U.S. Forest Service trail system. However, sport fishing is most popular in spring (April-May) for steelhead and July- September for salmon. The Ward Lake drainage is single hook, no bait, and artificial lure only. Steelhead retention is prohibited, all steelhead caught must be released immediately. Chum, coho, pink, and sockeye salmon limits (in combination) are 2 daily, 16 inches or longer and 10 daily, less than 16 inches.
